Hello - Could any one tell me where can I find some decent carrom boards to buy in the NY tri-state area?. I tried all the online sites available, they are either out of stock or costing too much with shipping. I would like to check the boards in person and pick it up if possible.

I found some reasonably good boards for regular/family playing purposes in most of the grocery stores in NJ (OakTree Rd) and in NY (Jackson Heights). These are only about $50 for a water-proof one.
Do NOT buy the boards from eBay, I had a very bad experience. I got a board which is only 3mm base thickness costed me $120, grocery store boards are lot better than this one. It's always better to check them personally before buying.
